Case Study
Star Street, Ware, Herts.
Constable Homes' Bowsher Court development in the historic town of Ware is an example of collaboration between all Anderson Group specialist companies and demonstrates our ability to realise an opportunity where others could not.
Star Street was a contaminated and derelict site, a subject of 17 years of unsuccessful planning applications and widely thought to be unworkable by other developers.
The site, a former gasworks, in close proximity to nearby residents presented many challenges. All Anderson Group's end-to-end construction and development companies were utilised to resolved ownership, contamination, waste management & recycling issues.
The design accomplished by Constable Homes, Anderson Group's development arm, has optimised the 1 acre site to produce a development of 76 units (145% over previous planning submissions) whilst remaining in keeping with a local area of predominantly one and two storey buildings.
Inert waste was recycled at Eco Aggregates' Cole Green Soil Washing Plant to produce aggregates that were used back in the construction process.
The project illustrates the tenacity and vision of the team involved and is proof that opportunities are available for those with the imagination and the skills to tackle urban regeneration projects.
