Meet the Team.

Having enjoyed 13 years as a key player at Anderson’s plant division, there’s very little that Sian Harding doesn’t know about heavy machinery. However, if she’d believed a handful of medical professionals, she might not have lasted her first week…

Sian Harding - Operations Manager

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

A criminal lawyer, as a child I was obsessed with watching crime programmes on TV.

What did you do before working at Anderson?

This was my first job after leaving school.

What does an average working day for an Anderson operations manager involve?

In my role there’s never a dull moment. I’m the company’s appointed transport manager and I oversee all HGV maintenance records and vehicle defects etc. I manage staff levels and welfare along with staff reviews and appraisals. I also make sure all our staff are trained to carry out their jobs in the correct and safe manner, and I work in conjunction with our health and safety department to keep everyone safe.

Employees of Anderson often refer to the Anderson way of doing things. What does the Anderson way mean to you?

To strive and be the best at what we do.

Share with us one thing your Anderson colleagues wouldn’t know about you?

When I was growing up, I never thought I’d hold down a full-time job. I missed a lot of school owing to a rare hereditary genetic blood disorder that sees me registered as disabled. Medical professionals always said I would struggle with the working life. I’m very pleased to have proved them wrong.
