Anderson wins final phase at former Needham Market quarry

Anderson has secured £4.8million of new work on a project to build a further 100 homes at a former chalk quarry.

The business has been awarded the contract for the next phase of work on the St George’s Park project in Suffolk.

Laying the groundwork

It is the fourth phase of the former Needham Market quarry project for Hopkins Homes Ltd. It involves the groundworks for 100 homes on the site which is being redeveloped for residential use.

Work is set to start this month (November 2021) and is programmed for the next two years.

This latest contract follows Anderson winning the contract to deliver Phases 3A and 3B, in April 2021.

Andrew Nowosad, Associate Commercial Director of Construction at Anderson, said: “A lot of hard work from all members of the estimating and delivery teams went into securing the last phase of the Hopkins Homes Needham Market development.

“The largest of all the phases takes the total contract value of the development to just under £15m.

“Pricing and securing work is challenging enough, but to continually do so for a development’s entirety bears testament to the safe and quality way the project has been delivered along with the strong client relationships established by all members of the team.

“Congratulations and well done to all involved.”

Relationships are key

Steve Howe, Managing Director of Construction, said: “Building and maintaining strong relationships with our clients is key.

“Our ethos, ‘The Anderson’ Way’ is what has established Anderson as a contractor of choice.

“We are delighted to see our working partnership with Hopkins Homes continue to flourish.”

Lee Barnard, Group Managing Director at Hopkins Homes, said: “We are very pleased to be extending our contract with Anderson to help develop the final phase of St George’s Park.

“The company’s extensive experience in navigating sites is a perfect fit for phase four in one of our most transformative, award-winning projects.

“We enjoy a really strong relationship with Anderson. And, with their valuable input, we will deliver another excellent collection of stylish new homes.”
