Construction business Anderson celebrates internal promotions

Two promotions at leading construction business Anderson are set to enhance the growth strategy of the business.

Anderson, which has its head offices in Chelmsford, announced the new job roles as part of continual enhancements to its health and safety credentials and operational management.

Roelof Van Emmenis will take on a new position of Senior Production Manager for Construction, while Andy Hammond has become Senior Health & Safety Advisor at the company.

Mr Van Emmenis first joined Anderson in 2014 before taking time out to study Theology Ministry and Mission in Cambridge, returning to the company in 2018.

His job includes managing the onsite relationships between Anderson and the firm’s many construction clients.

“I’m exceptionally proud of everything I have achieved at the company, and I am excited to continue this work in a more senior position,” he said.

Mr Hammond, who has a background in the British Armed Forces Corps of Royal Engineer, joined the company in 2018. His father Training Manager Steve Hammond works alongside him, and the pair are an intrinsic part of the Health, Safety, Environment and Quality team led by Richard Knight.

His job involves working predominantly on site where he trains staff and carries out inspections including management of hazards on site.

He said: “I want to ensure employees feel safe, comfortable, supported, and valued to ensure their well-being. Anderson strives to achieve this through management setting realistic targets, maintaining good lines of communication, and providing continual support.”

Steve Howe, Managing Director of Construction, said he was delighted that the pair had been rewarded for their commitment to the company and would continue to help the business grow – keeping a focus on vital areas.

“Anderson is always making improvements to its policies, procedures and systems that keep employee health and safety at the forefront and allow us to operate as efficiently and effectively as possible.

“These two employees have shown great dedication towards their work in these areas and have become influential members of the team.

“These promotions demonstrate the ambitions of the business, giving new opportunities within for career development and I congratulate Roelof and Andy and wish them every success for the future.”

Andrew Jay, CEO of Anderson, said the new appointments were key to the growth strategy of the business.

“As a business we have evolved and will continue to evolve and the measure of success is seen in staff who help us to grow and develop,” he said. “I’m thrilled that both continue their careers with us as an intrinsic part of our journey.”
