Plans submitted for major commercial development in Cambridge

Plans have been submitted to Cambridge City Council for Anderson to build one of the largest commercial developments in the region in recent times.

Proposals for the land located to the south of Coldham’s Lane, seek to deliver on the Council’s Local Plan ambitions. They include large-format commercial spaces, a new country park for public use and an extensive area of enhanced wildlife habitat.

Area A is allocated as employment land and an industrial and logistics scheme for the nine-hectare site. The scheme has been drawn up by leading architects Chetwoods and commercial agents M1 Agency.

The proposals will deliver approximately 350,000 sq ft of modern, purpose-built commercial floorspace, for uses such as last-mile delivery and distribution.

Area B lies south of Cambridge City Airport and will be repurposed to provide an ecology area focused on invertebrates.

The development would also unlock plans to open up Cherry Hinton lakes and make this part of Cambridge fully accessible to residents.
