Promotions push business growth for Anderson

A flurry of promotions at Anderson is set to enhance the growth of the business.

The company underwent a reorganisation earlier this year designed to improve reporting structures, communications and create efficiency and opportunity.

The new internal appointments will boost that strategy, including growing the plant and tool hire arm of the business.

The promotion of Darren Carter to Managing Director of the Plant Business – MAP Plant – will see the operations and machinery business continue to flourish.

Darren has worked for Anderson for 30 years and has always been a Director with responsibility for MAP but has also held the role of Group Sales and Marketing Director.

He said: “Our team has more than 30 years’ experience in the plant and tool hire industry, and we pride ourselves in supplying the most up-to-date equipment at competitive prices.

“There are big plans afoot for this part of the Anderson business and I’m thrilled to be playing a major part in delivering that.”

Leigh Cummings, who has worked for Anderson for 22 years, has also been promoted from IT Manager to Associate Director with responsibility for all IT Estate, Cyber Security and Communications.

His recent work has included the introduction of remote, cloud-based working as part of a “digital transformation” at Anderson.

“Our team work across 30 different locations and a considerable amount of collaboration is required, often involving hundreds of live documents, some of which before would have been managed through manual, paper-based systems,” he said.

“ICT is another tool for our colleagues and the aim is that across all our sites at any given time, more than 200 people can be working across hundreds of documents.”

Andrew Jay, CEO of Anderson, said the new appointments were going to be key to the growth strategy of the business.

“Both Darren and Leigh work incredibly hard to support us all and they both share a ‘can do approach’ and without fail they do this in a good humoured and supportive way,” he said.

“I am delighted that they are going to be involved in the continued success of our business in such instrumental ways.”

Another internal promotion – this time within Construction – is Adam Read, a Senior Estimator who will be taking up the new position of Managing Estimator.

Steve Howe, Managing Director of Construction said: “Since Adam joined the company over 12 years ago, he has shown great commitment and dedication towards his work and has been an influential part of the estimating team.”
