Why Valentina’s fallen for Faversham

A geo-environmental engineer working at Anderson’s Faversham Lakes development says the site is a fascinating scheme to work on, despite the summer’s wet weather.

Valentina Osella, of specialist engineering consultancy GB Card & Partners, provides technical and environmental advice as the 330-home development in Kent takes shape.

“I really like this site because there’s so much going on, especially from a delivery point of view,” says Valentina. “It’s great to work with Anderson because they’re such a precise client and if you need anything, they’re always there to help.”

GB Card & Partners are specialist consultants in the geotechnical and environmental field – and Valentina, who moved to the UK from Italy six years ago, has been examining the ground at Faversham Lakes, collecting soil samples and consulting closely with developers.

“Today we’re excavating trial pits to check and verify the ground conditions, to record soil conditions and collect soil samples to send for chemical and geotechnical testing,” adds Valentina.

“Based on our findings, we make decisions and advise on earthworks, ground treatment, and foundation design – as well as land quality issues, if there are any.”

Elaborating more on her firm’s long working partnership with Anderson, Valentina says, “Everything’s very clear and the communication is good. I think it’s an easy working relationship with Anderson.”
